Our full-time, 3 month paid internship program gives senior-level students and recent graduates hands-on experience and all the support they need to enter the industry. All MAKE interns join active production teams as junior artists so they can add real client work to their portfolios. This internship requires an in-person presence in our Minneapolis downtown studio. (relocation is required).

CG GENERALIST: Closely work with VFX Supervisor/CG lead and director, as well as the visualization team, specializing in content creation, animation, motion graphics and brand identity. In this position, the candidate must be capable of modeling, animating, lighting and rendering with minimal supervision, while maintaining a high standard of quality.
Technical Skills:
- Knowledge of Nuke and/or After Effects (knowledge of other 3D programs is a plus).
- Able to model, digital sculpt, texture pain, animate, light, rig and render.
- Familiarity with compositing basics.
COMPOSITOR: Work with the lead artists, VFX Supervisor/CG lead and director. The candidate will work on animated commercials and original productions across all media: 2D, 3D, stop motion and motion graphics to combine layers of previously created materials.
Technical Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of Nuke and/or After Effects (knowledge of other 3D programs is a plus).
- Able to composite multiple types of shots from simple to moderately difficult.
- Understanding of lightning, camera moves and color design.


MOTION DESIGNER: The candidate must have an eye for design, layout and typography to create visually stunning video assets and content. Will aid in the creation and management of digital assets. You'll get to work within the design team and closely communicate with the creative director, lead artists and producers.
Technical Skills:
- Fluency in After Effects and Adobe CC suite of products.
- Understanding of the fundamentals of both 2D and 3D workflow.
- Previous working experience is a plus.
STORY ARTIST / VISUAL DEV ARTIST: Visually explore and design all aspects of animated commercial and internal projects; sets, locations, props, characters, color and overall style. Must have a strong interest in story development, storyboarding, and character design. The candidate will be aiding in taking the intangible idea and turning it into a product for all to see.
Technical Skills:
- Fluency in After Effects and Adobe CC suite of products.
- Passion for storytelling.
- Strong organizational skills, tracking of notes, updating versions, and attention to detail.


2D ANIMATOR: Work closely with the design team to develop short stories and commercial projects. The key responsibilities will include: Creating keyframes and in-betweens, inking, coloring, clean ups, integrating images, characters, etc. into background graphics, preparing all animation elements for compositing, including delivering in set formats.
Technical Skills:
- Fluency in Photoshop, Toon Boom, After Effects and Adobe CC suite of products.
- Can work with various art styles and trends.
- Previous working experience is a plus.
3D ANIMATOR: Work closely with the design team to develop short stories and commercial projects. The key responsibilities will include: modeling, rigging, keyframing and integrating sound. The candidate will be able to provide renderings and help assemble scenes.
Technical Skills
- Knowledge of Nuke, After Effect, Zbrush, 3ds Max (knowledge of other 3D software is a plus).
- Can work with various art styles and trends.
- Comfortable with rigging and modeling.
- Previous working experience is a plus.
