MATCHBOX
The Matchbox Moving Parts collection is smashing through its sustainability goals. We brought this epic journey to the forefront through the experience of a fantastical factory that gives a better understanding of how these goals impact our future. This is not a giant corporate factory but a whimsical facility made at the scale of the toys, chock full of toy-like drones and robots. Buckle up for a fun, and sustainable vision of the future.
MORE THAN JUST A JOYRIDE
We certainly wanted to take the Moving Parts EVs for a joy ride but there is learning to do, silly! The most important job the facility does is to highlight all the factoids and statistics that demonstrate benchmarks of progress on sustainable initiatives. The types of plastic, recycled metal and packaging all play an important role. We came for the joy ride, but we stayed for the impressive progress.
ENVIROMENTS
We set out to establish a bustling facility full of activity and robots. The main function of the facility is to monitor, verify and test the sustainable attributes of the Moving Parts toy line. In this situation, the environment had as much if not more to accomplish than the toys did. Large signs boast prominent milestones and statistics while scanners, busy bots and drones bring the whole scene to life around the toys. Large windows, open spaces and sunlight make the vast facility a warm and energetic experience.

THE TEST COURSE
This whimsical facility is a space that also features the outdoors. Matchbox is built for the real world, and we thought it would be fun to showcase a robust outdoor test track with different kinds of terrain. Snow, dirt and pavement represent real world challenges for the vehicles while showing off their rugged futuristic-ness. This is our favorite detail in the Moving Parts fantasy facility.
BUILT TO SCALE
Accuracy matters, so we use precise car models to develop an accurate look to best represent the real toys. Utilizing the toy as the focal point and reference, we built a world at the scale of the toy. Our plastic and metal shaders work to make the illusion of scale even more accurate. These aesthetic tools were then applied to the robots in the background creating a complete vision at the scale of the Matchbox cars.

TOY TURNTABLES
Matchbox cars are built to reflect the real world. With the CAD models, we can be precise with our vision of each car in the Moving Parts collection. In our vision, the entire toy line has to be represented in pristine fashion. So every vehicle and EV, gets a little love to make it the best version of the toy.
PROPS
The robots and drones in the facility each have a part to play. They help envision an expanded world of Matchbox. These extra props were designed to boost the character of the facility. They are a blend of inspirations from impossible Dr. Seuss' contraptions to drones we see in the real world. Their job is to test the Moving Parts vehicles, scan them and tell us how they are more sustainable. By the end, they became less like props and more like minor characters.
MATCHBOX IN YOUR HANDS
After being a part of this wonderful fantastical toy world, we jump into the real world where each vehicle makes an impact. There comes a moment when we land on the recyclable package and suddenly this ideal toy exists. The continuity between the fantastical and real world was an important aspect that needed to be done well. We had to clearly demonstrate the fantastical world of Moving Parts becoming tangible for every child.
REAL WORLD IMPACT
We are proud to be a part of this sustainable initiative with Matchbox. It is a reminder that a big impact in the real world can begin with the smallest details and decisions in our own lives.
