A four-month-long mentorship of young creatives by a MAKE mentor to produce a short animated social media post.

We've always relished creating entertaining, concise animations like those we share on our @makegallery account. Over the years, we've garnered valuable insights, and now, we're sharing these pro tips during our workshop.

We are looking for skilled students and recent graduates who love to create animated stories. Selected creatives will make a short 10-15 sec. animation following a brief developed by MAKE.

ABOUT THE WORKSHOP

1. Current students and recent 2022-2023 graduates (computer animation, motion design, 2D/3D animation, and VFX) will apply and be reviewed by MAKE. Participants will be selected based on their portfolio and technical skills.

2. Once participants are selected, MAKE will organize the kick-off call with all selected students, where the artists will meet their mentor. A time and date for bi-weekly or monthly check-ins will be decided then.

3. Selected creatives will work independently to execute the project at all stages (including pitching the initial idea, animating, and finishing).

COMMITMENT

Monthly Check-ins: While workshop participants work independently, part of the experience is learning to provide updates, articulate next steps, and prepare their work for check-in meetings.

Weekly Hours: We estimate each participant's weekly time invested to be roughly 6 hours weekly. The weekly involvement will depend on the animation style and personal capabilities.

Process Presentations: Participants are required to create a Google Slides Presentation; to track the process and share it with mentors and peers during check-ins 一 you will receive feedback and solve setbacks. (That’ll take about an hour between all workshop participants).
