The Ultimate Police Cruiser is on its way to save animals trapped on a collapsed bridge. The Patrol must team up, rise up and save the day! This delivers cinematic action of the Police Cruiser while expanding our playground in the world of Paw Patrol.
Our goal was to create a world for the Ultimate Police Cruiser to patrol that feels like the show, while also serving as the best stage for the toy. Instead of precisely recreating the look of the show, we envisioned a set that looks and feels like a live-action miniature version of the show. Having a digital set means we can build complex sequences with dynamic camera moves that show off heroic action. This allows us to build descriptive, story driven action with cinematic shots that highlight each feature of the toy.
Add life to the scene with materials that react to their surroundings. Procedural effects help heighten the interaction between the surface of the water and objects floating in it. This effect was styled to fit the simple cartoony aesthetic of the Paw Patrol show.
On a digital set, we are free to produce visual effects that add energy to the scene. Particle and rigid body animation allow us to dial in the amount of destruction to taste— just enough peril to drive the action and suspense.
We created a digital stage where we can show off the best version of toy play based on the show. This is a miniature world built at the scale of the toy so that our entire scene feels cohesive. With a digital set, we can envision the toy play before we get behind the camera so that we know exactly what to capture. We add small details that convey a toy-like scale. This makes the whole environment a stage where hands can reach into frame without breaking the reality of the scene. Pretty cool, right?
