In space, everything is hostile, kills you instantly, or doesn’t care about your existence. Don’t tell that to these brave and incompitent astro-nots. We follow Leo and Orion as they attempt simple, even mundane tasks. Despite their best efforts, the results are classified.
Welcome to our micro short format where each episode is like a bite-sized animated version of a comicstrip. We follow two astronauts, Orion and Leo, as they experience hapless misadventures, space oddities and miscarriages in lunar judgment—or maybe they are just unlucky.
Do you study and admire comets from far away? So do Orion and Leo.
Leo makes some new friends. He might just leave his old comrade behind. Forever.
What a mess—Guess we gotta get out the window washer fluid.
Yay! Orion and Leo made it. Mission Accomplished. Time to pop open that champaign they brought along.
This is a sneak peak at our process for Dead Moon Walking. This was all traditionally animated by hand. From our early animatics to finished designs, we wanted to balance the cute and genuine optimism of Orion and Leo, their morbidly unlucky incompetence and the gruesome realities of space travel.
Orion, the stout space captain, might just be the unluckiest Irishman in space. The more competent and serious of the two, his passion for space can be found pinched between his furrowed brows. Just when he thought his luck dried up, he got paired with Leo. What Leo lacks in common sense and spacey knowledge, he makes up for with pure enthusiasm for exploration. One thing is for sure; they are both fearless—and that might be their biggest problem.
The world of Dead Moon Walking is a zany and sudden world full of bizarre dangers, ruthless monsters, rickety and questionable science and technology and unfathomable mysteries. From a Banjo playing space bear to the wondrous depths of the unknown. More might lie in wait for Orion and Leo.
Space is vast and we are small. The only way to cope, the only way to survive, the only way they get through any of it is to just close your eyes and hope for the best. If you find yourself going through hell, keep going.
