We won’t lie, we are trying to seduce you with chocolate. Almonds, chocolate and cinnamon—This recipe for an awesome chocolate sensation was deconstructed into its richest and most iconic elements. What we ended up with was pure, unadulterated and decadent magic.
Every delicious aspect of our piece is CGI. From the almonds, the gravity defying chocolate, the cinnamon dust was created in house so that we had absolute control over the light, color and drama of these elements. Using accurate photographic reference, every frame bursts with decadence and contrast. Uncovered is all about enjoying the taste and making it last for as long as possible. The visual drama and slow motion of each moment makes it look so good we can taste it.
There are key aspects that brought Uncovered together to make it look extra decadent. Slow motion close ups let us experience each element in hyper-real detail, giving us a moment to absorb that visual taste. Dynamic, high-drama light illuminates each scene and accentuates the fine details that pop off of a rich and dark background. On a rich cinnamon colored backdrop, flares of aberrated light illuminate our dark environment with teal and red. This is a subtle nod to the secondary colors on the packaging while also activating our dark backdrop. Put it all together, and you get a distinct world of chocolate and cinnamon.
Fine cinnamon dust has an elegant way of clumping together. In our dynamic simulations, we formed our dusted typography based on accurate reference and observation. Our simulations form super fine dust and in high enough density, words appear. It’s a slow motion vortex of cinnamon. Yum.
We used photography that captured real almonds to create a photoreal version of the almond. This allows precise fine tuning of the details and allows us to tweak it until its perfect. Look at gravity-defying spin.
Accurate reference was an important part of the process. Exact light conditions, real cinnamon captured in super slow motion. This allowed us to observe the details that came together to form a dynamic cinnamon burst. This was our north star for our CG Cinnamon dust.
This motion test captures one of the exact gestures used in our piece. We can let observation of the motion and light guide our hand to create a realistic gesture with high fidelity and glamor.
